Limitless Child International's mission is to provide opportunities to children without families to realize a thriving childhood and hopeful future. Because every child deserves a childhood.
WE WORK to tear down the walls that mock children's human rights, limit their potential to thrive, and diminish their very ability to live.
WE BELIEVE that once walls come down, a child’s right to happiness transforms into a smile on her face. And that once limits are removed, a child’s right to education becomes her seat in a classroom and that isolation is replaced by hope, laughter, play and love.
OUR GOAL is to help these children reach their potential and live a life without limits.
Our mission is singular, but there are many ways to achieve it and the impact will last a lifetime. Our two programs, Make it Matter and Peer Sports & Play, are focused on opportunities, not limitations. Using cutting edge technology, sports, nature and a child’s own story, we provide kids with the opportunity to be young and to do what our name says: live a life without limits.
Make it Matter: Breaking limits through technology
Make It Matter combines the passionate experience of international child-welfare professionals with caring leaders in the high-tech community to serve vulnerable children.
Advance in technology enable LCI to build and provide low-cost prosthetics to children currently deprived of access to advanced medical care.
We all have seen cutting edge technology (such as 3D printed hands) for humanitarian good, take the world by storm. But we all know that more than one-time give-a-way is needed.
Our approach to this new technology is unique and comprehensive. We use a network of established professionals in the tech, health care and children's services sectors. Our team creates quality 3D printed prosthetics, utilizes pre- and post-assessments for proper fitting and functionality, and incorporated cultural considerations into every aspect of the prosthetic program.
By providing a high quality program, we ensure that the life of each individual child is improved not only today, but tomorrow, as well.
Impact India’s Lifeline Express
Don't recreate the wheel, just figure out how you can use it. That old-time wisdom is how we can to form our new partnership with Impact India's Lifeline Express Medical Train. We are using their wheels to reach and help children with physical disabilities throughout rural India.
Lifeline Express has, over it's 33 years, provided free medical care to over 1 million of India's most marginalized citizens. This hospital on wheels empowers us to bring prosthetics to children in the to most effective way imaginable.
A specialized 3D printer installed on the train enables trained professionals to measure, print and fit the prosthetic hand to each child's specifications. This approach is high-impact, efficient and let's face it..it's cool.
Mobile Play & Learning Centers
Education should be more than reading and writing. And it shouldn’t just reach those who can make it to a school room. That is where our Mobile Play and Learning Centers come in. We bring learning through play, exploration and creativity to children who live in orphanages and their local peers.
We are partnering with Coby Unger and The Makers Asylum in Mumbai, India, to design and build mobile play and learning centers which will visit different orphanages and communities each day! The mobile centers use retrofitted rickshaws and STEM based curriculums to give children the opportunity to explore and play while preparing them for their transition to life outside of the orphanage.
Learning and fun. Wheels and children. You’ve got to love it!
Peer Sports and Play: Connecting through fun
Peer Sports and Play integrates marginalized children into their communities through the creation of community playgrounds and connects children with peers through team sports.
We all know that sports are inextricably tied to the notion of childhood. But for children in orphanages and impoverished communities, sports are not an option. This robs them of some of the most important experiences of childhood.
Our Peer Sports programs give children access to sports by creating formal and informal teams consisting of children in orphanages and their local peers. Whether an improvised game on a dirt lot or an official tournament sport plays an important role in improving physical and mental health, social inclusion and connectedness with caring adults.
Play is more than just fun. It’s a foundational element and legitimate right of childhood. Play fosters physical, intellectual and social development and provides pathways for social connectedness and friendships. Our partnership with India based Koochi Play Systems allows us to design, create and install safe play structures on the grounds of the orphanage but open to all children wherever they live.
